Maybe I am not really considered a visitor to Oklahoma City. I was born here, after all. But many changes have occurred since we moved away. Positive changes. I still feel at home here, but yet, like a “guest”. A welcomed guest, that is. These are just a handful of photos from the downtown area. There is so much to see and do here with Bricktown, the Memorial, the canal, the cupcake stores and the candy stores. I haven’t even mentioned all the places you can eat and shop while here! Then there are sports and music venues galore. Perhaps I’m a bit partial…..but if you haven’t visited Oklahoma City, you may want to add it to your list for some fun! 🙂
p.s. Expect more OKC photos SOON! (….we are the SOONER state, ya know?) Have a good one, friends ♥
So many of the pictures I didn’t recognize!! So many changes since we left the area!! Sure wish we could go back for visit and enjoy all that OKC has to offer but hubby just not able!! Thanks for bringing a small part of it to me here in Cumberland 🙂 Will be looking forward to more pictures..Enjoy 🙂
This was just a tiny dent, Dottie. It has changed so much! Beautiful condos in the Bricktown area, helpful ambassadors to give you direction. And the best of all…Sonic Headquarters!!!! haha 🙂
You have me at candy stores…
Love it!! Great photos my dear…what a great city! Fun to see where it started for you 🙂 I love that first picture, looks like you are taking a picture of me. But then, everyone else will think that too…it’s ok, I know I’m special. Haha!! 😉
ha! I was trying, but you wouldn’t hold still long enough! I will share a pic of “the place” I was born in the near future. My kids can’t believe it is still standing! 🙂
Haha…I wanted to go see what your hubby was staring at!! 🙂
He looked pretty thrilled, did he not? 🙂
Crack me up! 🙂
🙂
Never been there but it does look like a good place to visit!
Lots of fun….SOOOO much to do and see!
Brilliant collection of pictures ..;0)
appreciate you! fun place 🙂
I feel the same about NY as you feel about OC… I feel at home and yet like a guest.
I wonder if I’ll ever pass through Oklahoma…
With your many travels, Maggie….hopefully you will! ♥
Love the horseshoes!!!
me too! it’s so Okie!
We were in Oklahoma city about 40 years ago to visit my aunt but I sure don’t remember any huge buildings like this. We have a slide that shows a gas station in the background and gas was 25 cents per gallon….so you know that was a LOOONNNG time ago! I’m anxious to see more of your photos.
Delores, I’d say that’s been a couple of yrs, for sure. I love looking at the old pics of OKC too, but change is good, right? Well, sometimes? 🙂
I love OKC and these photos are GREAT. Can’t wait to see more, Bricktown is one of my favorite places to hang out down there. 🙂
The visit is one long progressive meal! 🙂 I think back to when I was a kid and this was “not” a safe place to hang out. Such beautiful and positive changes! So do you have a fav hang place there?
I like Nonna’s Purple Bar, Mickey Gilley’s place (for people watching), and Pearl’s Crabtown, Mostly I like to walk beside the river, haven’t taken a water taxi yet, but would like to and of course I like ending up at Outdoor World, Love that place!
Outdoor World is awesome. The original (basspro) in Springfield, MO is even bigger! We have not done the water taxi either. (don’t forget Sonic!)
Oy…I did forget Sonic…but we had them in several places I’ve lived…some are good some are NOT so good. That one must be good!
It all depends on the “ice”! Their headquarters is in Bricktown….
Ahhh, lucky you then!
I’ve walked along the canal, seen the memorial, listened to the Blues at the Biting Sow and ate at Toby Keith’s! Isn’t there some old building that has something to do with Elvis presley’s family and maybe also used to make coffins or did I just dream that one up?
Glad you’ve been there & enjoyed. Not so sure on the Elvis thing….anybody else? Doubt it was a dream….that would be too weird! lol!
I love OKC – the memorial after sunset is so hauntingly beautiful. It’s a lovely downtown area – a little midwest, a little bit southern.
Always something to do in OKC! Not like Eureka….but still awesome.

Never been there, in my mind I see Grapes of Wrath and dust everywhere, nice to see it’s a real purty city! Great pix!
Actually, after this years drought….there are “Grapes of Wrath” areas in OK. But OKC is kicking it and offers a lot to all! Thanks 🙂 paula
