Today marks the first day of summer here in the U.S. Summer Solstice. The longest day of the year. But it is not necessarily the warmest….so get out and enjoy what’s around you. Summertime never seems to last very long ~

good advice Paula and great shots! love the dog and turtle…so cute.
I started to put a disclaimer that “no animals were harmed in this photo”! The second we went in….the turtle went into JET mode! 😉 Thanks Rhonda….have a great summer day! 😉 I’m off to mow ~
love the smell of mown grass in the summer. would have liked to have seen a turtle JET…must have been quite funny! happy summer paula, at least until OK starts to bake!
I couldn’t smell it as I inhaled so much! But I agree….a wonderful summer aroma. The heat will be on soon. Last year we had over sixty- something days of 100 plus temps. You just learn how to deal, fuss alot and go to the Colorado mountains! As for Mr. Turtle….in five minutes time, he was no where to be found. GOOD for him!
yes…good for him. glad you all can head to the mountains…i remember how much my poor brother suffered last year in OKC…bless you. just make sure to keep it out there, getting kind of used to these 70 degree days.
Awww….quit rubbing it in!!!! We kill for the “three” 70 degree days we get here! haha 😉
sorry….will whisper it to the wind so you’ll hear it over the dry and dusty plains!
whisper….much better….(our kids are in the “plains” area….we are NE, so have a few hills scattered. but we ALL have the wind!)
Love Summertime and love your pictures…..never saw a turtle “jet” off!! I’m sure a funny sight!! Have a great day and don’t get too hot on your mower!! 🙂 😛
Dottie! I don’t ride my mower….I push it! Extra exercise in the lovely heat! As for the turtle jetting…I guess with two dogs after ya….it inspires those legs to get the move on! 😉
You are right..it never seems to last long enough! I’m doing everything I can to put the brakes on summer this year…savoring every moment. I love your images…especially that last one..are those geese? If so, they are my favorite bird!
Yes….our little lake at the end of our cul-de-sac has tons of geese….and a few little ducks, too ~ Have a great one!
It is summer solstice here in the uk and while the day has been fairly decent the skies have no darkened and the heavens have well and truly opened
Sounds beautiful, Paula! Enjoy ♥
Love summer, I hope we see it this year 😉
Great pics Paula!
I hope you do, too, Maggie! ♥
I’m on it!
🙂
You’ve got an eye for great and simple magical moments!
awww…thank a bunch 😉
My pleasure:-)
😉
I really like the tractor pic! You could sell that bad boy!
Well, thank you….that means a LOT to me coming from my famous art friend ~ you inspire me.
Thank you for the great photos and reminder!
Russ
