Santa Baby

When my sis and I were little I recall my mom getting us all dolled up at Christmas time.  She would then drive us to the bank for our pictures with Santa. My dad worked at the bank for many of those early years, and he was the one that would take our picture. I always looked forward to this for three reasons. 1. SANTA 2. I got to see my dad at work. 3. CANDY!

When our boys arrived, the tradition had to continue. Except for the dressing up part, that is! I loved our “bank” Santa!  Our youngest was not so fond of this jolly old guy for several years.  But eventually, he came around.

The creepy Santa.

The "real" Santa from here on out!

A little better?

When I look at the last photo of our boys with Santa, (Which I’m pretty sure I had to beg for that day!)I’m reflect upon a portion of the lyrics from Peter, Paul and Mary’s, “Puff the Magic Dragon.

“A dragon lives forever but not so little boys
Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys.
One grey night it happened, Jackie paper came no more
And puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar.”

A picture speaks a thousand words ~

β™₯ I’ll let you guess away on this very last pic! Leaves really don’t fall far from the tree ~
Merry Christmas my dear friends!

one of my fav pics! have it on the fireplace for Christmas πŸ˜€

  5. There’s no place here where you can go have your picture taken with Santa… Can you believe that? Every year I’d make Harry dress up as Santa and I’d take the boys picture with him. Where there’s a will (or a determined American) there’s a way!

  6. Paula, this is a marvelous post! These pictures are a stitch, and a treasure. Love the last one too–that one stretched a smile into a grin. Merry Christmas, and a bright New Year!

Adorable – I have never seen a Santa in a bank. Maybe because my mom always went through the drive-thru…

  8. I always wished I had a sister…and I’m fascinated with my two granddaughters and their precious friendship. The pictures are just wonderful, and very meaningful! Merry Christmas…I’m so glad I found your blog the latter half of this year. Wishing you only the best for the new year! πŸ™‚

    • Ditto! So glad to find you as well! I am nearing a year at this “blog thang” and am overwhelmed at the awesome folks I have come to know along the way.

I never had brothers until my wonderful brother-in-law….who ROCKS! Sisters are great friends….so neat that you are seeing this thru your little ones now!

      Merry Christmas ! β™₯
