So this was a question asked this weekend of a fellow blogger, “What is your favorite aisle?” (to shop) www.intheoldroad.blogspot.com Any store. Any thing. This was a no brainer for me. I LOVE SWEETS….and habanero cheese ~
About once a month, hubby and take the scenic drive over to Chouteau, Oklahoma. It’s about 45ish minutes, but well worth the drive to The Amish Cheese House. (www.Amishcheesehouse.com) Here we pick up our “staples” (hehehe), and then grab a scrumptious sandwich made on Nettie Ann’s home-made wheat bread. We are then out the door to grab a cherry coke at Sonic….let the picnic begin!
There are several flea markets and antique shops to rummage through while you are in this area. And if you come early enough, you can forfeit the sandwich and eat the buffet breakfast at The Amish buffet place across the street from the Cheese House. (they serve other meals too, different foods for different days ~)
NOW…..What is YOUR favorite aisle to shop? Anything, anywhere…..(but keep it family friendly!) HaPPy Sunday! 😉
I *love* the Dutch pantry! (the buffet place you mentioned)
If I am going to be passing through Choteau during daylight hours, I always add in another hour to the trip so we can stop and eat there. Reminds me of Grandma Ida’s cooking 🙂
Now I’ll be sure to check out the Amish Cheese House.
Let me know when you do….and it is best if you are NOT hungry when you go in….. 😉 (DUTCH PANTRY ~ thanks…I could NOT recall the name of the place!! I normally do not eat pork….but I could not resist their thickly sliced bacon!)
It’s a no-brainer for me….the scrapbook supplies aisle at Beverly Crafts. Although any crafty aisle in any store would do:) It’s a good thing we don’t have an Amish Cheese House nearby or I would be a regular. Do they have cheeesecake too?
I don’t think so, but I’m sure they have the ingredients for it! They have all the fillers for donuts and pastries, and every kind of popcorn you can think of! But was my face red when I asked about how to pop it….they are Amish….and the answer is NOT in the microwave! 😉 (Oh….and the fudge and the chocolate chip cheese ball are unbelievable!)
Love all the pictures! My fav isle is not the grocery store for sure (since i’m not crazy about cooking) However, if you are ever in Austin check out Whole Foods downtown. This is where the HQ is and WOW!!! So much great food, much of it is ready for you to eat right there or ready take home with. So many items to check out….I could spend hours here….and get in little trouble with everything I purchase 🙂
I love Whole Foods….they are just not in my travel path so I don’t go there often. You are always in trouble, sister ~
Definitely the coffee aisle, or ANY aisle at Starbucks!
No surprise here! 😉 I love the smell, Lauri….but give me their passion tea….yummmm♥
Mystery aisle at the bookstore…
naturally, Julie B! ♥
You posted about two of my favorite things to buy also. Whenever hubby and I take a trip to St. George, UT we make sure we hit the Cheese Factory in Beaver on the way. I have a terrible sweet tooth. No matter how good the meal is I want just a tiny something sweet to top it off. I linked up to this party also. Mine just happened to be about something I had to purchase at the time. Hop over and visit if you get a chance.
Hugs,
Jann
That’s great, Jann…kindred souls, I guess! Thanks for stopping by…I’ll be sure to pay a visit to you, too!
