Hubby and I watched, “We Bought a Zoo” a few evenings ago. To be honest, neither of expected much from the film. And isn’t it good to have low expectations? That way any positive is a bonus! We were pleasantly surprised with the “whole” of the movie. In fact, it left us both with a challenge to each other that we were talking about the next day. “Twenty Seconds of Courage.” That might be all the time it takes to do something great, save a life, or even turn your own life around.
Yesterday, when I was approached by my hubby to jump into a helicopter and I am the biggest chicken in the world when it comes to flying, the first thought in my head was, “NO”. Then my mouth said, “Well, hurry and pay so I don’t change my mind.” And he did. And up we went. I’m still here to tell ya about it, too!
I talked to our youngest son a little later on the phone. Here is a bit of the conversation, son ~ “What are you guys doing?” me ~ “I just flew in a helicopter.” son ~ “Is everything alright?!?!?” I think he thought we’d been med-flighted! He knows my fears that well…..:)
I did not buy a zoo, but I flew in a helicopter. And I’ll take that for today ~
Twenty Seconds of Courage. Try it. Happy Tuesday! that seems like Monday to me! ♥
It is a lovely family movie with that bit of wisdom that seems to inspire.
Well done, Paula.
🙂 Thanks, Paula. Enjoyed the movie AND the flight! Have a great week!
I was glad that you jumped IN to the helicopter and not OUT of it!! Great adventure and way to go! We saw that movie earlier this summer and loved it, thought it was really moving!! Ok, now I have to think of what will be my 20 seconds of courage! Well done my friend! xo
Haha. Heartwarming movie….and then that one little phrase left to fuel you. Happy Day, Bonnie! 🙂
Yes, a great nugget hidden in the midst of it. Happy Tuesday to you! Remember, it’s Tuesday now! 🙂
I KNOW, crazy!
Haven’t seen the film but will look it out now. Heaven knows what it will give us courage to do!
Oh my…..you guys will probably buy the zoo!!!! 🙂
I have been hearing such good things about this movie lately… I guess I’ll have to rent it.
My husband flies to work in a helicopter at least once a month when he works on the oil platforms in the North Sea. I’m always glad I don’t have to go, they look SCARY (and I really don’t mind flying in airplanes) go figure…
You fly so often….you would probably enjoy the heli for a change!? Go with him sometime! Take pics! 🙂
Way to Go for flying in a helicopter! Did you like it?
It was fun and I would do it again (if I didn’t think about it long, that is!). 🙂
I flew in a helicopter once – made me dizzy. It rocks around so much!
It didn’t do that to me….or else I was shaking so much I thought it was me!!! 🙂
I thought that movie was so sweet! And I’m impressed that you went up in a helicopter! I haven’t done that… but I’m trying to do other new things. Good post!
Good for you and thanks :)….It sounds like your 20 seconds were walking into Tire King! Ugh!
Why am I not surprised you did this? Anything to take a few photos:) Thanks for the pics and review. I put the movie on my list! We saw another movie this week-end that surprised me. Our youngest granddaughter (11) wanted to see “The Ordinary Life of Timothy Green.” We took her and her older sister (16). Not expecting much, we were all delighted with a feel good family movie!
🙂 I wondered about “Timothy Green” when I saw the ads. Good to know it’s worthwhile to see. Sounds like you had a fun weekend, Jeannette!
Loved that movie, and the ride I took too! But once was enough for me. I think I’ll stick to planes. How about you?
I will fly on planes when necessary (but still HATE) and yep, I would ride in the heli again. The landing and takeoff were so much better! Now the “no door” thing? Well, that’s another story! 🙂
Way to go!!! What do you think about hot air balloons??
Is this an offer, sister? Have only gone up in a tethered balloon. Was hoping for one yesterday, but we got there too late and they were packing it up. You game?
How cool!! And great pictures!! Good for you…:-)
🙂 some blurs….but then there was no door and I was hanging on! lol!
I am SO impressed!!! That took more than twenty seconds of courage in my book!!
A very kind pilot that knew I was a big baby!
sounds like the very best kind of pilot to have!
for sure!
Having labor day/monday off definitely boosted the week up a little- next thing you know- its wednesday and this week’s half done!
Awesome Pics Paula!! Wow, that looked like a lot of fun too…:-)
It was, Juliana ~ thanks ♥
That’s great – and an awesome idea! Sometimes we overthink and overfeel, when all we really need to do is just have the courage to go for it! 🙂
That is exactly right! It is a curse being an overthinker! So I am gonna work on it! 🙂
