Travel & Furry Friends

We met many nice folks on our trip last week….but the furry friends were abundant along the way, too.  They were not camera-shy either!Meet Jack.  He rode the train with us to Ft. Worth, Texas.  This was his first train ride and he loved looking out the window.  until he heard my peanut m & m’s open From our water-taxi ~He’s with the pub.  And no, he is not real ~Pepper was enjoying his ice water on the river walk….until he spotted the DUCK!This little guy wasn’t big enough to belly up to the bar, but he had his own chair! This beautiful boxer was exercising and chasing a few ducks. not to worry, he did not get one!   The water taxi told on him…and pretty soon the river walk police arrived.  Fortunately, he swam hard when called and was out of the water and fast.  None of us had seen a thing! These sweet little girls were waiting for us when we got home.  Sugar and Baby ~ They are the best ♥

  1. Paula – I love the theme…love how you pick out a singular idea and zero in on it…the pups are adorable, especially yours!! xo

🙂 It’s funny how playing with other’s furry friends makes you miss your own more!

It’s true…when we went on vacation last summer, I kept seeing the same folks in the meadow/forest where I ran and their little dog made me miss ours! 🙂

🙂 our little therapy friends ~

  2. What fun! Did the residents forgive you quickly? 😉

I didn’t know that pups could ride the train – that has me thinking. Yours are adorable – beagles? Nice post:)

    • stuffitellmysister says:

We didn’t know it either and were excited to ride with this young couple and “Jack”. Ours are rescue pups, beagle/terrier mix…..but we call them “Missouri Mixes”….since they came from the Joplin Humane Society when we lived there. They are sweet little girls.

      • artsifrtsy says:

So cute! I have Jack Russell Terriers. Were you in Joplin during the tornado? I was up there pretty often during the clean-up.

      • stuffitellmysister says:

We had already moved. (Lived there aobut 7 yrs) Our younger kiddos had just moved from there a month prior. We went the weekend after to take some necessities to friends who lost most everything. Still unbelievable to us when we go. Nothing seems the same.

I have a photog friend who lives there and his family lost several residences. The company I work for sent emergency supplies starting the Monday after the storm and we would go work on weekends. I was there that first weekend after the storm and the destruction was like nothing I had ever seen. Very emotional. I took hundreds of photos because there was just nothing to say.

      • stuffitellmysister says:

We were there that weekend also. Agree….we were speechless.

      • artsifrtsy says:

The only tall things left were flags and new power poles. We got to help a lot of people though, some really moving experiences. People were just in shock – there was so much need.

      • stuffitellmysister says:

yes….immediate needs. we took simple things like snacks, water and rubbermaid totes….they have come so far because of good folks like you ♥

      • artsifrtsy says:

What we did was really pretty small – but very personal. We would go to a large church and sign in for jobs. Almost every able bodied person in Eureka made several trips – Joplin is our neighbor:)

      • stuffitellmysister says:

Oh! And sometimes….Sugar (our smaller pup) REALLY looks like a Jack Russell….but her sister does not. Weirdness. LOVE Jack Russells!

      • artsifrtsy says:

Me too – but they are sooooo OCD. I have a Rat Terrier and a Goldendoodle too – but the Jacks rule the roost.

      • stuffitellmysister says:

Sugar is OCD…..I actually took her to a dog whisperer when we lived in Joplin. It helped a bunch, as silly as it sounds! 🙂

I wouldn’t discount it at all. I have used trainers in the past – one told me that she thought Kirby (my male) was autistic. He is averse to being touched unless he chooses to be touched – he’s an odd duck though. I have him almost a month before I could pet him at all.

      • stuffitellmysister says:

Pets are as unique as people with their personalities, quirks and “disorders”. Kirby sounds like a “kitty” attitude ~ 🙂

      • artsifrtsy says:

He was bred to be a show dog but cannot stand for strangers to touch him. He’s a very happy dog and when he decides he likes you he is quite affectionate – but always on his terms – you know he is like a car:) He’s an excellent hunter – he has killed 10 snakes this year:/

      • stuffitellmysister says:

OMG….snakes?!?!? Sadly…Baby got a few rabbits and a rat. (she was so proud of that rat!) And she brought me a locust – in the house….ugh! (and they are inside dogs!) 🙂 I couldn’t be a show dog either. All that stranger stuff…. 🙂

  4. Love these pictures. Jack is awesome. Sugar and Baby are so cute. 🙂

  5. renea says:

i like the fact the pup could be at the bar!!! i hear this is acceptable in many countries….not much state side. great pics….and love that you can bring your dog on the train!!

    • stuffitellmysister says:

I know me too! I think it was probably one of those…”as long as no one fusses” kinda things….but we certainly didn’t mind! We didn’t know about the dog train travel either….Jack was a wonderful companion and seemed to enjoy every moment. 🙂

  6. tchistorygal says:

Our Puppy Girl is jealous of ANY furry friend. I stopped to pet a horse while we were out walking the other day. PG jumps, hits my leg several times, whines, and finally gives up. But she was NOT happy! She may even be jealous knowing that I am reading this post, but I won’t tell her. Fortunately they haven’t figured out how to send smells over the computer. So she’ll never know. 🙂

    • stuffitellmysister says:

I promise NOT to tell!!! 🙂 But I do think smellavision could be so cool!

      • tchistorygal says:

SOMETIMES!!!! Flowers, the ground after a good rain, junipers, cinnamon rolls mmmmm Cows – not so much! Skunks – worse! Unfortunately PG loves them all! The more smells the better!

      • What are you doing in my spam again, my lady?! (5 comments) I tell them you are not spam….but their ears must be closed! 🙂 so sorry for the delayed response again! 🙂

      • tchistorygal says:

At least you fish me out!!! Thanks for always checking. I’m really discouraged about ever getting it fixed. Maybe if enough people unspam me I will be less likely to be spam.

      • stuffitellmysister says:

Well I sure don’t get it! But I’ll continue to throw you a line! 🙂

  7. Your girls are adorable 🙂
