Moonlight in Vermont…of course! π
Well of course! π 68 degrees here Rhonda! (But it is about to end)
Oh sure…rub that little nugget in. Well, we are in our own little heat wave…it is currently…hang on…a balmy +14, emphasis on the plus! Enjoy while you can, freezing rain due in here tonight, but talk of warmth for wednesday. finger’s (unstuck) and crossed! xo
BRRRRRR…..T-Storm headed our way….bringing with it come cold. But not THAT cold! Hope you get some warm soon! (and I won’t mention those lovely 70’s we had yesterday…..)
I’m certainly thankful you DIDN”T! That would just be MEAN. You are so sweet to me.
LOL…I sure give it my best Okie try π
you do. and hey, adding my prayers your rain hangs out for a long while. i know you all need it desperately!
rain drops keep falling on my head
ha! a new worm for ya
oh no…..so many songs in my noggin’! appreciate the prayers….yep…we NEED this to stay!
Moonlight Sonata for us. Lovely shots.
One of my favorites! Some day I’ll learn the controls on my camera and really learn to “shoot the moon”….;)
Moon River…I can hear Andy Williams singing it:)
“By the Light, of the silvery moon, I want to croon, to my honey I’ll sing love’s tune….” I guess that dates me. The moon was so bright here last night, I got up to see if our neighbors left their back porch light on.
And to think it’s that same big old moon we share! I’m singing backup for you…;)
And I see the boat and the reflection on the water…..loving it β₯
Oh, good ole Bing. I just sang along with him and I notice I got my spoon and croon mixed up before…but we all get the message. Thanks for finding this old clip. You are an endless source of info. You really churned up a lot of memories about “moon songs”.
π Can’t get enough of Bing…or moons! β₯
Just remembered another oldie…How High the Moon….Les Paul & Mary Ford among others recorded it:)
Am gonna look that one up!
Blue Moon, you let me standing alone….
I thought this might be the first one mentioned! Mine and hubby’s “song”.
Without a dream in my heart…..without a love of my own….βͺ β« βͺ
π
We had ice rain Saturday night, rain yesterday, and sun and about 60 today. What a crazy January! … Sinatra – Fly Me to the Moon. π
Crazy indeed…..Temp at posting was 68….now it is a rainy 55. Bring on the rain! Love me some Sinatra! (btw….loving this 2nd book, too!…trouble follows Susan!)
Squee! π Thank you.

CCR Bad Moon Rising!
“I see trouble on the way!” Now it’s stuck in my head! (and playing on you tube!)
in my head as well…..
π
“Fly me to the moon” by Frank…
Fly me to the moon
Let me swing among those stars
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars
In other words, hold my hand
In other words, baby, kiss me
Damn now I’m sing it and it will be in my head all flipping night…
I heard Tony Bennett sing this in concert a few months ago. Love it! So many great moon songs!!! (a good song for you to sleep to!)
Moon RIver – Breakfast at Tiffany’s – fake Audry version. I was sorely tempted to get out the tripod last night but I was just too tired. Lovely set!
I was letting a dog out and in and out and in….saw the rolling clouds over this moon and had to snap. One day if I learn about settings…these will be way cooler! π
Low ISO + High F-stop + long exposure + tripod = Night shots with lots of detail. Of course it depends on how long your zoom is when you shoot the moon. Sometimes like this the haze is nicer than the craters π
TY! I will make an attempt!!

Bad Moon Rising by CCR
oh yes….love it!
Moons – I have to love them. Often they seem so close I could pluck them out of the sky. Other times they are so far away the stretching reach wouldn’t be worth it. I love the night and the moon and enjoy walking the dogs when the moon is out and the world seems lazy.
I’m with you….they always capture my attention. Especially on a stormy night! You dogs are LUCKY dogs! π
I’m thinking Moon River too… it always makes me think of my uncle Fred… he always used to play it on his electric organ when I was a kid π
That was my 2nd “moon” song to come to mind. (Blue Moon being first) A great one….I’m guessing you danced while Uncle Fred played? π
LOL I was about 7 or 8… I didn’t dance π
You are such a pup! π
I’m Being Followed By A Moon Shadow….
and it’s – yes that is minus 22 Celsius here. Brrrrrr…….
Love Cat Stevens…..thanks for reminding me of this song! Well I hope you are staying inside and wrapped up!
Forgot the most important part of my response π The link to MoonShadow by Cat Stevens
Blue Moon – cause it was the first song that came into my mind..
love it β₯
Moonlight Sonata–can here it in my mind now. thanks
me too!!
Walter de la Mare’s poem “Silver” set to music by Armstrong Gibbs. I once sang this song at a recital, and felt quite transported by both the words and the music! It’s sung here by Linda Grace.
Thanks for the link, Sarah!
I can only open one of the posted pictures – and it is very beautiful!
The first song I am always thinking about when asked for a moon song is a German tune, written by Johann Abraham Peter Schulz with the lyrics of Matthias Claudius. It is called “Der Mond ist Aufgegangen” (the moon has risen). I found a lovely a capella version of it on YouTube, here:
(First time I ever looked it up on YouTube at all, actually.)
Hmmmm….I wish I could tell you why they other pics will not open. ;( The harmony on this song is haunting ~ in a good way!) Thanks for the link!
Glad you like the tune. I found this particular performance pleasanly haunting, too. π
As for the pictures: WordPress seems to act goofy on my end, currently, for whatever reason. Maybe that’s why. π
Just a heads up – a lot of your photos are NOT appearing on the blog. have liked to see this Moon and the 52 reasons.
