“Fly me to the moon” by Frank…

    Fly me to the moon
Let me swing among those stars
Let me see what spring is like
    On Jupiter and Mars

In other words, hold my hand
In other words, baby, kiss me

Damn now I’m sing it and it will be in my head all flipping night…

Moon RIver – Breakfast at Tiffany’s – fake Audry version. I was sorely tempted to get out the tripod last night but I was just too tired. Lovely set!

  8. Moons – I have to love them. Often they seem so close I could pluck them out of the sky. Other times they are so far away the stretching reach wouldn’t be worth it. I love the night and the moon and enjoy walking the dogs when the moon is out and the world seems lazy.

  9. I’m thinking Moon River too… it always makes me think of my uncle Fred… he always used to play it on his electric organ when I was a kid πŸ™‚

  10. I’m Being Followed By A Moon Shadow….

  14. Walter de la Mare’s poem “Silver” set to music by Armstrong Gibbs. I once sang this song at a recital, and felt quite transported by both the words and the music! It’s sung here by Linda Grace.

  15. I can only open one of the posted pictures – and it is very beautiful!

The first song I am always thinking about when asked for a moon song is a German tune, written by Johann Abraham Peter Schulz with the lyrics of Matthias Claudius. It is called “Der Mond ist Aufgegangen” (the moon has risen). I found a lovely a capella version of it on YouTube, here:

(First time I ever looked it up on YouTube at all, actually.)
