First Bloom

The flowers of late winter and early spring occupy places in our hearts well out of proportion to their size. ~Gertrude S. Wistertulip2

I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers ~Claude Monettulip1

I hope some day to meet God, because I want to thank Him for the flowers.

I like that first shot a lot – the exposure is lovely – you see the texture of the petals’ surfaces. It’s emerging from the dark – really nice shot!

  6. Oh the color!! Beautiful…an understatement!

  7. Beautiful images and sentiments… They made me smile… 🙂

Flowers are amazing, aren’t they, and those tulips are a surprise. Vince has been planting cosmos, petunias, pansies, anything with lots of color! We take daily walks around the yard to see what’s blooming, or how things are growing every day. The song is lovely, too. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

    • 🙂 Every year I say to my self, “Self ~ you are not going to go crazy and plant any annuals this year.” And then I do. yep….Flowers are amazing.

Paula, you would get along great with my husband. He went to the nursery and bought 4 flats of cosmos – almost all planted, 2 and a half flats of petunias, all planted, and he just finished planting his last flat of pansies when he realized they were mostly early spring plants. He’s kind of bummed about that. But the yard looks amazing! He has planted mostly perennials in the past. So, I’ll post a picture soon. 🙂 M

      • Cannot wait to see the pics! As long as the pansies stay shaded….they’ll hang in there. When we lived in Missouri, our yard was so shaded with trees that the pansies would last to July. We don’t have that here.

That will be tough, but we will see. Poor guy, he just planted so MANY of them! 🙂

      • Just enjoy them while you can!
