For Healthy Feet and More

I am hesitant to recommend an item for your skin without first testing it for a length of time. Well….Time’s up on this test and the results are amazing. The topic is not one that’s pretty, but it is a battle that many people deal with. Dry, cracking, splitting feet and hands. My hubby has battled this his entire life, but working and standing the many hours that he does tends to aggravate it even more. He has taken many prescriptions over the years. Injections. They all work for a while, and then they don’t. A couple of months ago while I was at the grocery store, a product caption caught my eye, “For Healthy Feet”. It was around eight dollars, so I threw it in the cart. About four days later my hubby said, “I think this stuff is working.” And now…..three months later, his feet are the healthiest they have been in ages. He simply applies it every morning. (even though it is suggested you apply before bedtime….always a rebel!)  It is now also sold at our hardware store.

Last week I was visiting with my neighbor.  She is going through chemo and was telling me about a cream she had purchased as she is dealing with Hand-foot syndrome, a side effect of her treatment. I told her about hubby’s results from the O’Keeffe’s and she headed to the store. She sent me a text the next day. She had used it on her hands and feet and couldn’t believe the relief she was feeling overnight.  Sweet.

This morning I decided to call O’Keeffe’s and ask them a few questions before writing this blog.  Brittany answered the phone.  I was impressed immediately at talking to a real person.  She explained that about fifteen years ago, a chemist, who had a father struggling with cracking feet because of diabetes, created this ointment for him in her own kitchen.  About three years ago, Gorilla Glue purchased it from her.  She said they hear many positives from diabetics to eczema, psoriasis and chemo patients.  She also reminded me that it is guaranteed relief.  So there ya go, friends.  It works well for us.  If you or a friend has this need, you might check out their website:  O’Keeffe’s Skin Creams.

  1. That sounds really good. I have Burt’s Bees foot cream and like it, but I have to keep my eyes open for this O’Keefe’s stuff.

  2. Found it – available here in town – so will be checking it out. Also found that it is spelled with two “f”s.

  3. Wow – what a review. Don’t have the affliction but will certainly recommend it to anyone I meet who has. Tanks.

I am going to try this on my feet. I have friends to recommend this to as well. Thanks! I see that I can buy it locally too. Bonus!

  5. Thanks Paula, I’ve struggled with this and have destroyed many a bed sheet with my dry, cracking feet! My girls also have inherited this as well, which I inherited from my dad. I’m going to suggest it to my girls. I hope I can find it locally!

  6. Reblogged this on Through The Lens and commented:
Okay, this is not flowery or pretty to look at but its one that is essential for healthy summer feet!

  7. Thanks for the tip. I’ll pick some up on my next trip over. 🙂

  8. This is just OK for me–no miracles. I have tried almost every product you can imagine! What does work for me, and I know this is weird, but Vicks Vapor-rub! You must be consistent, which I am not always; then, I suffer. Especially if some of your issue of drying and cracking is related to candida, it seems to be very effective. I also have used it on fungal toenails and the nail softens and can be pulled off in as little as a couple of weeks.

  9. Oooh, thanks, Paula! My brother’s hands are so cracked, it pains me to look at them. I will definitely tell him about this!

Now this is something I need! I am a diabetic and so have badly dried and cracked feet. Yeah! I am so hoping it works for me as my feet actually hurt they get so dried out. Thanks! 🙂

    • I sure hope this is your answer! LMK ♥

      • Thanks for forwarding this foot-saver news. My poor old dad stood on his feet for 50 years barbering and he suffered with his feet. I’m going to look at Lowes (where daughter works) and buy some. Wearing sandals in the Arizona heat is sure to bring on the cracks & splits. I bet it works on gardener’s cracked fingers too. You’re the greatest Paula!

      • I saw your temps on the news tonight, Delores. Already triple numbers….ouch! Oh I hope you like this stuff! LMK! ♥

  11. Wow I will have to try that! I never had problems with dry skin on my feet until I got a pedicure at the tender age of 40! I will have to check out this stuff next!

Great share a problem many people suffer from… will look into this for my wife…

Have to check this out … next time I’m over in the states … September. I’m using Argan oil and that is magic for all cracks and dryness. The hair gets so soft and shinny – have to do a post about it.
The best I ever used for hair and skin, but I will give this a try too. .

They should send you a year’s supply for giving them such a wonderful shout out! 😀

  15. It may not come in a pretty package but sounds like it really works.

My son recently raved about the stuff. I tried it and love it too. BTW, I compared the ingredients between their product for hands and their product for feet, and near as I can tell they are exactly the same and are even listed in the exact same order. So I suspect that whichever is bought will work equally well on both hands and feet, and there is no need to buy both versions. Of course I’m no doctor and this isn’t a paid endorsement! ;-D!

Good information. My mom had the worst cracked feet I have ever seen, and in the summer mine starts to look like hers. I’m definitely going to get this! 🙂 thanks! 🙂

Seems there is going to be a run on O’Keeffe’s. Psoriasis is maddening–will let you know if there is relief.
