Lessons & Fog?

It’s been an interesting week, hasn’t it?  But I have learned some lessons that I would not have been opened to otherwise.  1.  It’s okay to ask for help. I tell people this all the time, but it is hard to be on the other end of it.  2.  People WANT to help  3. Trust….them to do what they say they will do. 4.  NOT a new lesson….always have a plan B. because I will always struggle with #3   5.  Pizza Hut just shows up with hot pizza at the door of storm victims!  Who knew? (thank you, Pizza Hut!) 5.  My mom and dad are still the toughest people I know. which is why I bought them this!

We will leave early Saturday morning and hopefully be able to make it into my mom and dad’s in Moore, Oklahoma.  Today I received phone calls from numerous individuals and groups asking what they could do to help them.  A group from JOPLIN, MISSOURI will be at their house Saturday morning to help with the clean up for them and for their neighbors as well.  I don’t know if they need me there, but I need to be there.

I will check in with you guys later.  Please keep the many families of Oklahoma in your thoughts and prayers.  (AND the volunteers!)  Thanks to each of you for your sweet words of encouragement.  ♥

Here are a few pics we took last weekend on a foggy morning drive…..Have a safe weekend and  be. nice. to. people. ♥

Of course they need you there..and of course you need to be there..it’s the only way. The cape is perfect, but you should have bought two..one for you too. Keep us posted as you can, and I will be thinking of you and your parents as the tough task of getting things put back together begins. Big big hugs friend. xo bon

  2. My thoughts have been with them all week, hugs to you, be strong x

Have a safe trip …. of course you have to be there and they needs you what ever they say.
I think that the most important thing is that we have a cape around our hearts and not over our shoulders. Will be thinking of you and your family.

  4. Nothing will be more important to them than seeing you there!! My thoughts and my heart are with everyone there.

I’m glad you are getting over there. The folks from Joplin are just wonderful. It looks like the weather will be good for clean up. Do you know if there is a central volunteer clearing house like there was in Joplin? Stay safe!

    • I have been communicating with a group thru the City of Moore. They are trying really hard. Ignite from Joplin? They are in Moore teaching them AND they are the ones who will be at the house 1st thing in the a.m. PLUS so many other people that have called and want to help. If they all make it, several folks will be helped tomorrow. 😉

  9. I can certainly understand your wanting to be close to your parents at this time and I’m sure you’ll be a help and a comfort to them. And, your pictures are fabulous!
    Take care, Paula

  11. I LOVE your list on the dilemma and the crossover of needing help, helping those in needs, and the need to be needed. Wherever you fit at the present time I simply KNOW that you will give your all. Thinking of you while you are in Oklahoma and your precious time with your parents.

  14. So glad your folks are okay, and that such a wonderful support system is there to help out. My thoughts and best wishes go out to them, and all the other people impacted by this disaster, Paula.

  15. I’m so sorry to have been away from blogs for so long that I missed that your parents were affected by the tornado. I’m glad they are ok and we’re praying for everyone affected.

Keeping everyone there in my prayers and specifically my blogging friend’s family. I thought of you when I heard the news the other day and said a little “please protect her” prayer right then. Amazing that Joplin can come in to help.
