Our last couple of days in the Ozarks were spent exploring. No matter how many times you visit the area, there is always more to discover. We stayed at a quaint and adorable tree house resort. We both agreed that we didn’t want to deal with ghosts at the Crescent Hotel this time around. That didn’t keep us from paying it a visit in the evening though. It is always intriguing.
Before leaving the next day, a local gave us directions to Beaver Bridge. A single lane bridge ( 11 feet wide and 554 feet long) built in 1949 that crosses the White River. It is the last standing suspension bridge in Arkansas. Bridges make me really nervous, but we lived on the edge and crossed it twice.
I was thinking of The Bridge of San Luis Rey the entire time! 🙂
There were a few more stops along the way…..but I’ll spare you. Time away and time together are something hubby and I fight for because of his career. So by drawing out my posts….well….you understand. Perhaps the writer of this song (Bob Dylan?) lived in the mountains, because when you are simply visiting…..time passes by quickly…
Time passes slowly up here in the mountain
We sit beside the bridges and walk beside the fountains
Catch the wild fishes that float though the stream
Time passes slowly when you’re lost in a dream.
Wishing each of you a wonderful week.
