Time for a Win~

Chiefs Fans sign

I captured this billboard as we were driving down Rangeline in Joplin, Missouri last Sunday. My youngest son came to mind.  A die-hard fan of the Chiefs, he is pumped over their winning season. MSSU Lions?  Well~ not so certain on their season. his alma mater But this post is not about the Chiefs.  It is not about MSSU.

Last weekend my sweet neighbor and her hubby drove to Dallas and then hopped a plane to New York.  Talk about an avid fan….she is a JETS fan deluxe.  This would be her first live game and she was and still is thrilled beyond words!  Even though the Jets were expected to lose to the more powerful Patriots, they played strong and won in a controversial overtime.  Details Here. I think I could hear Michelle screaming all the way to Missouri! But this post isn’t about the Jets.

My friend Michelle is fighting breast cancer.  And I don’t say this lightly.  This girl really is a fighter.  She continues to live life to the fullest, spend time with her little girls, and flash that smile no matter what she’s dealing with in a day.  We truly think the reason the Jets won last Sunday????  Michelle.  She was in the house. But as my hubby says…  Now Michelle is due a win.

October is Breast Care Awareness month,  but the battle is daily. It is physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.  Pray for a cure, ….and pray for our Michelle and for every person that is touched by this disease ♥

Once  I overcame breast cancer, I wasn’t afraid of anything  anymore.

If  you have a friend or family member with breast cancer, try not to look at her  with ‘sad eyes.’ Treat her like you always did; just show a little extra  love.

  5. There are so many friends of ours facing this disease now, or they did at one time. I am sure Michelle will continue to come to my mind, and when she does, I’ll be sure to remember to say a prayer. ox

She, with all that I can think, of are in my prayers… living with a survivor of 3 different cancers including breast, it is important not to harp on the disease and to talk about rather the good things in life.. unless of course they want to talk about it, then one still tries to make as light of the subject as possible… a survivor wins if their mind is right and it sounds like Michelle’s is, she’ll survive I’m sure….
