I captured both of these images while out and about the other day. Both were thinkers for me. I will spare you my personal thoughts for now, but a penny for YOUR thoughts? don’t read my tags…they will give me away

Stuff I Tell My Sister
Meta
This one made me smile Paula! the contradictions in the second sign made me laugh out loud and the options in the first sign seem a little over the top!
Oh how I agree, Louise! 🙂
Traditional, modern, blended… has Church now become like a coffee… ??? As for the second sign.. “God kills???” this seems a little out there for me…
Good points, Bulldog.
Wow, Paula. Neither of these signs would make me want out find out more.
Oh don’t let me get on my “soap box”! Do we have to go to that effort to get people intested in going to church, or having a relationship with God? As you may remember I was a church organist for 30 years…until the younger guys decided the hymns needed to be jazzed up, and they needed to wear ragged levis, and have flashing lights on the “worship team” while playing guitars and drums, to prove how modern and how much fun church could be. I think God deserves better than that.
The same happened to me, as a church organist. 😦
😦
Thanks for sharing your heart, Delores. Things have certainly changed.
They did both catch my attention, though! 🙂 Have a great weekend!
I hear what ya’ll are saying about being modern and wearing jeans to church BUT I kinda like what the sign says — Try Church Again. I was out of the church for many years because church services bored me. Still, I wanted to know what was IN the Bible for myself so I made the decision to go to Bible study classes ONLY. I didn’t allow anyone to guilt trip me into going to church. Nine months into my venture at this one church, I transferred to the daytime classes because they were offering an Amazing Collections (I think that’s the name of it) course where you read the entire Bible, one week at a time. Best Thing I Ever Did For Myself and I think it made me a better person.
“I think it made me a better person”. I love your experience! Thanks for the share….awesome. 🙂
Eye catching, yes! (And an interesting contrast in approaches). But the great challenge is always to engage the heart. Thank you for a thoughtful post and an interesting conversation, Paula, as always!
I have enjoyed the interesting comments as well. Engaging the heart…most certainty, Naomi♥
I loved reading the comments about the sign. There’s a message for everyone. I stopped and thought about what it said. 🙂 Elizabeth
