It’s not that I like mowing the lawn, nor do I dislike it. I’m simply practical in that I’d rather keep the money in my pocket than pay someone. I am kinda particular on how I want it done. Yes….the exercise is good. But typically by August, we are mowing just every couple of weeks as the grass is white from drought. This year the Lord has blessed us with an abundance of rain and cooler summer temps…. hence mowing twice a week. Thank you Lord….but ugh.
Then….this happened. As I was trimming away with the weed eater yesterday, my web-footed neighbor appeared.
Off into my garage he went! And then….this happened….there were two!
The morning just got better and better after this surprise visit. It made me more aware of my surroundings. This lawn stuff ??? Glad to do it. Well, at least for today.
By the way, as I was working on a project in our garage last night….THREE ducks came to keep me company. Smile.
Be nice to people. We never know what a person may be dealing with in their life.
(Happy Birthday Stebo! ♥ )
Nice to have the ducks around!
And be nice to ducks too! 😀

Beautiful photos and story, LIsa. Your ducks look like very cute companions. Now,inexplicably, I have that song, “Be kind to your web footed friends, for a duck may be somebody’s uncle…..” playing in my head. 😀
Can’t help but smile when the day includes your stories and your photos. xo
Oh stop it! 🙂 huggles♡
ooooh, love that. huggles. so cute! (like you)

Nice photos 🙂 I have to be honest and say I haven’t mown the lawn in years… when I lived in England, I didn’t have a lawn of my own and when I emigrated we paid someone else to do it…
I *did* rake the leaves. And I hated that with a passion. Blasted things kept blowing all over the lawn again…
When we lived in Missouri I loved all of our trees…..until fall. What a pain indeed!!!
What annoyed me more than anything was when you raked your yard but your neighbor didn’t… so then all his leaves would blow over to your yard and you’d end up raking all his leaves too! Okay, I’ll get off my soapbox now LOL
Well you were a better neighbor than I. In Missouri the city sent a mulching crew by to collect the leaves. You just had to get the piles to the road. Easier said than done!
Enjoyed your ducks and dragonflies.
So glad….yesterday there were six ducks! 😉 They just keep growing.
Isn’t there an old adage: “Get all your ducks in a row.” Where are they coming from? Our yard is just rocks and they don’t require mowing, thank goodness!
Our cul-de-sac is right on the water, Delores. That brings us lots of critters! Sometimes they are in a row….sometimes they are not! 🙂 Glad you don’t have to mess with mowing!!
It is always great to look for the unexpected surprises in life.
I agree! Happy day 🙂
One day there were twelve ducks walking through my back yard. Nice. They’re one of God’s beautiful creatures. I loved the flowers too.
