There are vacations that keep you so busy that getting back home is almost a relief…. this wasn’t one of those. This had to be the most kicked back trip we have ever taken. I am so grateful for time off with my hubby. And for mustard and beef bologna and wheat bread and Pringles and onion dip and grape juice. (and candy…lots of candy) I am happy to have a guy that has no objection to eating unhealthy food for a few days. And that agrees with me that doing NOTHING for a change….is truly something.
Be still and know that I am God. Psalms 46. 10
We so rarely do nothing. We could all benefit from having this kind of vacation now & again! Just lovely:0)
It is hard for me to do nothing. But this place was different. …we would start to leave, but then end up back on that porch. 🙂 Would like to be there now!
Sounds like my kind of vacation! ❤
A swing, a kindle, and a blanket. Perfect. 🙂
Getting away is the best medicine. Im so glad you had a few days to unwind.
Thank you. Right before things get crazier ….this was just perfect. And no rain the whole trip!
My kind of vacation! The photos are beautiful…where did you go?
Sugar Ridge…… between Rogers and Eureka Springs, AR. We are already looking forward to the next time. 🙂
We spent a day in Eureka Springs many years ago…loved the area!
Eureka Springs has held it’s charm and beauty thru the years. I recall going there as a child as fell in love with it way back then.
That sounds like a great vacation! Glad to see you back!
Ah, there is nothing better than doing nothing! Well, except doing nothing in a beautiful spot with someone you adore and candy 🙂 So glad you had a wonderful time!
🙂 This is your kinda place, Bonnie. We did have a bandit peaking in very late one night. I took his picture…..
Doing nothing on vacation is pretty awesome – you make it look like heaven!
Well other than the Bologna…..it was pretty darn close to heaven, Mimi! Lol
Bliss! Happy for you both, sounds (and looks) like heaven. xo
I am not a morning but I couldn’t resist the sunrise over the water each morning. Hubby would wake to hearing… “There’s a cloud on our deck!” Maybe he was ready to come home?!? 😉 Love you, R♡
Doing nothing is so important. How wonderful that you enjoyed it, together! 🙂
Beautiful pics and I love me some good old junk food and CANDY!!!
Me thinks you taught me that candy habit! 🙂
I love holidays like that…. nothing to do and all day to do it in….
Agree whole heartily, Bulldog. 🙂
A lovely place to just relax in, Paula. 🙂
When I go on vacation, I don’t do anything. I just lay back and enjoy the scenery. Perfect.
We took a ‘nothing’ vacation once…it was splendid. We are planning another one this winter.
Do you think you might consider that area for retirement? I love Eureka Springs and enjoy using a cookbook from the “Victorian Sampler Tea Room” in that gorgeous old 2 story house at 44 Prospect. It may be closed by now. Good memories of lunches there with Cousins who have gone on to their Heavenly Rewards. You & hubby needed this do-nothing vacation because Christmas at the store means long hours. Loved your photos.
Funny you should say that, Delores. We have thought about NW Arkansas for retiring as we loved it when we lived there for a short time. I have one of those cook books as well! I think it is still there…but will double check that. Poppy seed muffins and the best meatloaf marinade ever came from that book! Oh yes….Christmas is coming on strong. We are attempting to prepare mentally. 🙂 Hugs ♥
Oh my goodness, that looks (and sounds) idyllic!
It was a wonderful escape!!! Happy weekend! 🙂
