The Farmer’s Market

My hubby and I drove to Oklahoma City a few weeks ago to visit my parents and the OSU/OKC Farmer’s Market.  This market is unique for a “cooler” state, in that it is open year round.  We were reminded while we were there that Spring is in the air and it will not be long before ALL of the markets will be up and running!  Great products, friendly vendors, and a festive atmosphere.  It’s a great way to spend your Saturday morning! The following is a partial photo “tour” of our visit.  There are even more items than shown below, but this should give you a good idea of what you might find.

These baked products are unbelievable…..I tried my first scones and they were YUM!

My dad’s Pain Fixx and more ~

Beautiful Baskets woven by our friend, Pauline ~ She teaches classes, too!

These treats are favorites of our pups!

Crocheting from the heart ♥

Friendly Faces!

Mom’s Corn Bag Therapy….addictive and soothing ♥

Meet Ms. Cheryl, The Market Manager~

Laughing Rabbit soaps, oils and more ~ (Patchouli is my favorite)

Sweets for my sweet tooth ~

Sweet Monica with her herbs and beautiful cards made from herbs & flowers ♥

Love Farmer’s Markets! I honed in on that coconut cake real quick:) In California we’re used to year-round markets and living in an agricultural area, we now have large selections of organic produce too. I love supporting our local growers – especially the strawberries!!

    • Jeannette ~ sounds like we have the same sweet tooth…esp for coconut! 😉 Berries are a short season here, but so good while they last! I would love to visit a Cal market, I can’t even imagine the choices!

We’ve been eating winter strawberries for about 6 weeks now and they are so sweet this year:) Yes, we’re spoiled!

  5. The corn bags, do they come in body wrap sizes? Every joint hurst today! LOL

    • I know…like sleeping bag size! She does make one that’s “snake” like…I love wrapping it around my neck while I am doing other stuff. Also great for around the back. My massage therapist said to use these and NOT heating pads. Heating pads can deplete much needed moisture, according to her. Corn bags provide this. I don’t sit down to read or go to bed without my cornbag! 😉

  6. Oh those carrots look soooo good. Do those tomatoes actually taste like tomatoes? It’s hardly worth buying what our big markets offer. I wouldn’t turn down any of those cakes either. Tell your Dad that we are using his Pain Fixx daily and it seems to be doing the trick. I wonder if he could just pipe us a constant flow of his healer?

    • I think the tomatoes are tasty….much better than from the grocery store. Glad the Pain Fixx is helping. I think the more you use it at first, the better. And I’d just bet he’d be glad to accomodate! ;)(Now I’m craving cake!)
