On a journey with no destination, you just go where the wind blows you. Or in Arkansas, you go where the next curve takes you. We were headed to find the elk as suggested by a friend, when hubby saw a ferry noted on the map. Hubby ~ I’ve never crossed on a ferry before. Me ~ Where will it take us? Hubby ~ I don’t know. We will cross Bull Shoals Lake into Missouri. Me ~ Okay, let’s go. So we did. The end. But not really…

Perfect way to go….the ferry’s great, but the attitude is better! You two are just so……cute! xo
The ferry is fun! Attitude….crazy 🙂
Perfect! 🙂
We took our daughters on a ferry ride last fall for the first time. My oldest was in awe. It’s such a short ride that getting out to look around seemed silly since they were snug in car seats and all but they still had a blast.
Making memories…..sweet ♥
Nothing better than making beautiful memories! Blessed that you shared!
🙂 thank you!
Aaah the “lets see where it takes us” road… I love it … Linda and I have done this so often and seen some marvelous things we would otherwise have missed… I love it.. and a ferry ride to boot…
We have been to this area so many times and never knew the ferry existed. Plus we had a great visit with the other folks (all six of them) on the ride. Fun-ness….(if that’s a word)
What a great attitude and it looks like you had a fun trip 🙂
Pure fun….roaming, snapping pics, and eating along the way 🙂
Brilliant gallery …. and why not let the road/ferry … take us on new adventures … we don’t always has to know where the road/ferry leads us – they say that all road leads to Rome ???? Is it so ????? Want to know more.
Awwww….thanks….We are still on that “Rome” search, Viveka. Does Branson, Missouri count? I wonder? 🙂
I’m sure it does ….. not a big fan of Rome *smile .. so Branson will do me just fine. *smile
🙂
I’ve never been on ferry before either!
I had not been on one since I was a little girl in Louisiana. This was a tiny one….but relaxing and fun to visit with the other folks.
Just go with the flow. It’s that simple. And rewarding. 🙂
I agree! 🙂
I love adventurous people. What lovely pictures shows the beauty of the place. Had a bit of a laugh at the first photo with the no pets beyond this point. Where do you think they where sending the ladies.LOL.
We had a giggle out of that one as well! An Ozarks rest stop….. 🙂 Hope your week rocks! 🙂 paula
Looks like you had awesome weather, too! 😀
It was perfect! 🙂 !
Wonderful! Following your nose takes US to some neat places! Thanks, Hubby!
🙂
Hi, Paula! I’ve never been on a ferry either. Well, the Staten Island Ferry, but I didn’t have a car. Looking forward to seeing what you found on the other side. 🙂
Hi Maddie! I’ve missed you, but I’m so excited about your new series! (but I still need more of your first series!!! 🙂 )
Susan’s Canadian adventure should be done this month! Or very close to being done. I have more plans for her in the future, too. 😉
Oh what a relief!!! I have missed her too! (but you more!)
The perfect serendipity. You and hubby sure know how to have fun.
🙂
What fun photos to go with your ferry adventure! Here in the SF bay area, we take the ferry all the time from Marin County to ‘the city’ (San Francisco). When my guy commuted, he had a 15 minute ferry ride from home to work, with the Golden Gate Bridge on his right, and the Bay Bridge on his left. What a way to prepare for the work day!
However, your ferry ride was an adventure and a surprise, the best kind of traveling…
Wow….as you said….what a soothing way to begin and end a day! There were three cars and 8 people on our ride…including the operators of the ferry! We thought about just staying on and going back again! 🙂
Wow, that is like going back in time. Your pictures are lovely. The last time I rode a ferry that small was in Canby, Oregon, and I was 15. You captured my sense of enthrallment with the entire experience! My first husband and I used to ride the ferry from Seattle to Bremerton, just to ride it. We played pacman on the lounge deck! That dates me! 🙂
Sorry…..all I heard was pacman. Now I hope there’s an app for that!!! 🙂
There wasn’t then. We made these trips in the early 70s.
I barely recall the 70’s!!!
Yeah! me too, until I saw your pictures! 🙂
ha!
This one must have been smaller than yours….lounge deck? Nope. We stood leaning on cars and visiting with the others. So relaxing….
The one in Canby held one car , I think. The ones from Seattle were huge, and could sit thousands of cars.
Wow….I cannot imagine a ferry that large!
They are pretty amazing. We took a ferry all the way to Canada one time. It was an awesome trip. 🙂
I cannot imagine that!! That would be so much fun! How long did it take?
It’s been a long time ago, but I don’t think we slept on the ferry. So, several hours.
I might be spooked sleeping on it!
We took a trip on a ferry from Italy to Greece, and that one we did sleep on. It wasn’t bad at all. In fact we were treated like royalty. It was like being on a cruise.
That sounds awesome!
It was!
