I cannot believe it is already August! And I will be saying this about September before we know it. August is so stinking hot where we live! So why oh why, do people favor this month to get married? I don’t know ~ I just show up to the weddings. Well two of the three, anyways.
1. HaPPy Anniversary to my youngest son, Chi, and his bride, Angie. I do believe they chose the hottest day in the history of SW Missouri to get married, OUTSIDE. Yes, you heard that right. August. Outside. Kids that are in love and that are making their wedding plans in the wintertime, think nothing of temp possibilities, heat stroke victims, folks sweating like pigs,(although I learned that pigs DON’T actually sweat so I don’t know why this phrase is coined as such) and keeping the reception cool. Not until the week of the wedding, that is.
Okay…enough of that….the point is that today is Angie and Chi’s 4th anniversary. WOO HOO & Congrats! And they are off to Ireland for a couple of weeks. Now how’s that for a celebration!?
2. Also celebrating an anniversary this month are Renae and Steve ~ (sister & hubby) They have been married a LONG time! Thirty plus years! They too, chose an August OUTDOOR wedding. In Oklahoma! It was fun though. I recall picking up the wedding cake. The bakery had the color trim wrong. They told me it would fade to the right color. It didn’t. But I think it may have melted. I also recall the photographer backing up for a shot and falling over a tree in my parent’s backyard. That still makes me giggle a bit. But it was a beautiful wedding with great music and two lovely people.
HaPPy Anniversary you guys!!! And Congrats!
3. Faye & Garland aka ~ Mom and Dad! were also married in August! If not for them, the above marriages would never have occurred! They were married in 1954, in Marlow, Oklahoma. BUT INSIDE! And on the 8th of August, they will be at 58 years. (Read Faye’s Story, to learn more about their courtship.) Wow….. Congrats, Mom & Dad. HaPPy Anniversary!

That was nice. Happy anniversary everyone!
🙂
Hope they have a fantastic time in Ireland (here)!!
They are in LOVE with Ireland! We just skyped with them. They had sunshine today and are enjoying staying at the Ballynahinch Castle for a couple of days. I think golf tomorrow. If you are near there….go say hello! They would LOVE it! 🙂
Ah brilliant, good to hear!! I don’t don’t live near Galway unfortunately, though I visit it often! It’s one of the best places to be in the country when we’ve a bit of sunshine!! 🙂 Tell them that we hope they have the craic playing golf tomorrow! 🙂
Will pass that on to them! They have had a great journey and say your hospitality is amazing ♥
