A Different Kinda Sunday Afternoon ~

Hubby and I usually take Sunday afternoon drives, but last week, we were in San Antonio, Texas.  So our drive was a water taxi ride on the riverwalk. (and after that, about eight miles of walking!)  I’m sure many of you have taken this excursion…..it’s certainly a relaxing one!View from the 16th story ~HaPPy SuNdaY! ♥  Enjoy your day ~

The Beginning and the End ~

Our time off is quickly ending.  I have much to share from along the way…..but for today, well, it’s the beginning and the end of the train journey.  We’ll get to the in-between-stuff soon enough.  Have a great weekend! ♥Norman, Oklahoma Train DepotSunset through the train window on the Texas – Oklahoma border ~

Autumn Blooms

I wanted to share a few Autumn flower photos taken at the home of my parents near Oklahoma City.  The bit of rain they received has certainly helped!Dad’s pecan tree ~Mom’s fall blooming Iris ~

I’m Outta Here ~

Don’t underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear, and not bothering.

Piglet, Pooh’s Little Instruction Book

I made my last-minute dash to the dollar store yesterday to buy snacks.  The cashier said, “Wow, whoever eats all this is gonna be wired!”  Smile….that would be me.  But not all in one sitting, mind you, and I will share!

And now, I think I hear our training a coming………

So I’ll hang the sign that hubby’s barber had up last week when hubby attempted a hair cut.  Though I probably won’t be roping  one never knows, I will be out-of-pocket for a few days.  Ya’ll have a good weekend and week, be nice to others, and hopefully that train will bring us back home…….eventually.

Here are a few older posts in the event you show up here today and are bored. 🙂  Also, blogger friends, please feel free to place a link in the comment area to a favorite “positive or thinker” post that you have done this year!   (or maybe of a trip you’ve loved?)  Can’t wait to check them out!

Once Upon a Time ~

Once upon a time, a few weeks ago , hubby and I took a few days off to travel in our fair state.  We went to Oklahoma City, visited with my parents and with friends and then, one morning, hubby said, “What would you think about heading down 35 South, then cut back east and cover some new roads?  I think we might find some great photo opts for you.”  He knows that magic word, photo opts, and off we went.  We founds some fun towns with interesting buildings.  Bar-b-que in Pauls Valley was delicious and finally, we were in McAllister where we got some interesting prison photos.

Since we were not on a schedule, we didn’t know where we would spend the night, but never thought about that being a problem.  We were close to the beautiful and huge Lake Eufala, and that’s where I wanted to stay.  On the lake.  And then it came back to me.  When I was a little girl, our family would stay right on the lake at a state resort.  Arrowhead.  I googled it.  Nothing.  I googled again.  Again…no existance.  I attempted to call the state park services. Recording.  So we just drove because I knew I could find it.   AND FINALLY….we saw a promising sign and took the exit. And we came upon this view when I said, “YES!  That’s it!”  So we drove and we drove and well, you get the picture.  We saw a golf course and wildlife and I was getting more anxious with each curve we rounded.  Then we started seeing signs on the side of the road saying, “No trespassing” and “Remain in Car”.  What?  We arrived.  But we didn’t stay.  In fact, we turned around pretty fast as we knew we were on camera.  This is what my childhood state resort had become:Our eyes were big as we BOTH talking, “THIS IS THE PLACE THAT’S UNDER INVESTIGATION.” We had recently watched it on the national news.  Nope.  We did not need their rehab services on this day.OH MY, NO!Nope….no room in the Inn.

And so this is where we landed.  Just twenty minutes from our house….after 10pm at night.  But we would NOT scare our house sitter and go home.  Plus I’d always wanted to stay here!  The place never sleeps and no problem finding great restaurants and entertainment!  A lovely place that I would stay again.  When we get lost and end up twenty minutes from our house.

And they lived happily ever after.  THE END ~  🙂

Have a good day, friends 🙂  And be nice to others! ♥

Perfect Fit

We have been back in Oklahoma for a while now, but still are not totally established with new “physicians”.  I did the research and made the call yesterday to get hubby in to a local podiatrist.  When you are a retail manager and live on your feet, a podiatrist is as crucial as your dental visits and therapist.   I gave all of the pertinent info requested by the office manager, scheduled the date, and then she asked, “What does he need to see the doctor about?”  Well, duh.  You already know what I said, don’t you? 🙂  “His feet“, I replied softly.  Silence on both ends of the phone line….then giggles on both sides.  I think this place may be the perfect fit for us!  yes, I know I’m a dork

Hope your day is going well! ♥

Concern?

Just down the road from us, a few times a year, this is what we see:

Sometimes just one.   Sometimes a few.  On the fence post of a beautiful home in the country.  We are intrigued and curious.  Should we be concerned?  Or are they just messing with us? 🙂  If this is a universal code for something and I’m in the dark? …..please enlighten me!
